Leathers. Shibori – The Shibori tradition is inventive, adaptive and exploratory. The traditional arashi shibori process involves wrapping around a pole, securing it with string, then compressing in to folds. This transformation of materials by repetitive hand manipulation leads to the final expression. It is always a discovery when reaching the end. Pleating brings movement to still objects. It is the transformation of the material by repetitive hand manipulation that gives the final expression. All the steps are important and contribute to the final work.
