Trudi Nisbet: Uncontained

Stoneware and vintage threads.Wheel thrown ceramics and coiled basketry – The pandemic has been a source of inspiration and reflection in my art practice. “Uncontained” explores the focus of keeping this dreadful virus under control. My stitching echoes the lines that were put in place, restrictions after restrictions, to seek containment and stop the spread of the virus. And at some point the virus broke the containment lines and spread ferociously. Additionally the materials, unglazed stoneware and mixed fibres are in itself a metaphor, a vessel which cannot contain liquid. 19cm (h) x 10.5cm (d)
