Lissa de Sailles: Down the Rabbit Hole
Paper, linen, brass – It began with dexterous hands trained from an early age to thread buttons on string, knit yarn scraps and crochet madly when things around me were out of control. Untangling thoughts and capturing moments of history through the use of available materials during certain cultural epochs have led me down a rabbit hole more than once. Mostly, I transform paper string through the art of weft twining, into small sculptures and hope to evoke feelings of wonder and curiosity in myself and others. 14cm W x 18cm H x 5cm D
