A New Life (Australia)

Making this artwork for the Broken and Repair Exhibition has been an exercise I enjoyed, and it brought to mind the work that mostly mothers and other women, have put in over the years altering and making new garments to ‘make ends meet’. Large families where clothing is passed on and repaired or remade into new garments emphasises how much work associated with our clothing has gone on, and is still happening. – Gauze wire, pressed metal, lace, ribbon, spray paint.Cutting gauze wire, cutting pressed metal, attaching different materials to each other.
