This body of work is a far cry from a monoculture and a collection of the random.

United Tribes is a powerful narrative of togetherness, entangled in humour, exposing the artist’s sheer delight of imagination.

The figures pay tribute to connection, with personalities of difference or sameness, and hoodwinked in their attire.

The audience will be exposed to their own fleeting insights, with curiosities and affections.

The figures from United Tribes are salvaged, mended, reconstructed, stitched, sewn, wrapped and re-instated to be exposed and supported by outrageous attire and adornments, responding to their characters in an intuitive way as the process unfolds.

These figures of mixed media are constructed in a haphazard collection of textiles blended together with found objects, both organic and man-made. These could include fabrics and fibres, threads, wools, hair, wire, fishing line, feathers, beads, bones, barks, drift woods, paper, ropes and much more.

This body of work –United Tribes – will be anassemblage of sculptures, and are a tribute to my well-worn signature of recycling.
