Sculptural Twining – 2 day workshop with Trudi Nisbet
Course Overview
During these two days we will explore the versatile basketry technique of twining and learn how using simple variations wondrous sculptural forms are created.
Part one. Students will sample different methods including closed and open twining, colour application, reverse and separation twining.
Part Two. Harnessing their own inspirations and creativity, students will use their newly acquired skills to create a unique sculptural piece under the gentle guidance of Trudi.
A variety of materials will be used including plants and other natural mixed fibres. Trudi will guide you through the use of colour and design in your basketry and will have several examples of twined sculptures to view in the class.
This workshop is suitable for the beginner, and perfect for those that have had some experience with basic twining who wish to extend themselves. On completion of this workshop participants will have the skills and confidence to continue on their path of a wonderful basketry journey.
