Triple layered kimono. - This kimono is layered in the Japanese tradition. The bottom layers is lame which has been "melted off" to create a pattern. The middle layer has been leaf print dyed and over dyed with synthetic dyes. The top layer is silk organza which has been arashi shibori'd and degummed. The intention was to have the piece well lit so the reflections of the various layers affect the whole piece. The piece was prominantly displayed at an exhibition at Belconnen Arts Centre, ACT.
