Recovery (Hungary)

Recently, I came across a box of old hot-cut organza maps left over from earlier works. Various kinds were greased and jammed together with overprinted newsprint cutouts. I carefully separated them, taking care not to tear them, but the most meticulous part was ironing them flat. Then, I layered them onto an old, pieced scrap covered it with dyed silk sheer, fused them in place, and stitched to secure. I was pleased to recover some of these old fragments into a new piece. – Old quilt, organza, newsprint Hot cut, fused, melted, machine stitched 94 x 53
