Illukol

Linen and threads. Embroidery  – This fabric embroidered book tells the remarkable journey of Illukol – each page is a stitched celebration of the turning points in her life. As a 14 year old girl, Illukol was savaged by a hyena in a remote village in Uganda. Her tribe carried her 160km to a mission hospital where reconstructive surgery was attempted, with little success.Thanks to Rotary International the road to her long recovery brought her to Newcastle.Through her generosity, her legacy now assists other young girls in their health studies 12 page fabric book 25 x 25cm
