Channelling Chanel : Behind the Seams

Calico, braids, threads and textured fabric Machine and hand stitching – For more than fifty years, I have been inspired by the remarkable vision of Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel – a woman who re-shaped fashion, and re-defined modern femininity. Using stitch, texture and some of her many quotes, this is my tribute to her enduring influence in women’s fashion. Two iconic pieces form the foundation for my collection The Little Black Dress designed in 1926 is a symbol of elegant simplicity, and the Chanel Jacket designed in 1954, a masterpiece of structure and comfort.
