Paper Vessel Workshop with Danielle Bodine
In this one day workshop with Danielle Bodine, you will. create a beautiful paper vessel.
Collected a drawer full of interesting hand-made and unusual papers? Here’s an opportunity to put them to creative use. Workshop participants will learn how to construct a vessel using basketry techniques and then apply thin sheets of paper to the surface of it. Printing, stamping, collaging and painting applications will be explored. Vessels will then be further embellished and personalized. Contemporary basket makers and their work will be reviewed. Open to beginners to advanced. Good class for art instructors and artists in all medias.
Scissors, medium size stapler and staples, 10-20 clothespins, small old towel,
1 inch paint brush, spritzer or spray bottle.
Handmade and unique papers
Tapestry needle (blunt nosed)
Items you like to collect or have special meaning to you that can be used to embellish – photocopies, beads, found objects, natural and manufactured materials, wires, etc.
Favorite printing stamps
Plastic gloves (optional) Wear old clothes or apron.
Materials Fee: TBC which will include basketry materials, papers, adhesives, stamp pads, paints.
While our fibre art workshops are usually held in the gallery's historically significant workshop space, the workshop venue may change according to the needs and wishes of the artist tutor. Likewise, the times of the workshops may vary depending on the type of workshop and its presentation.
Timeless Textiles Gallery will, at its own discretion, where a participant is unable to attend a fibre art workshop, an exchange or credit note will be made available or a refund of the deposit or payment in accordance with the following Workshop Refund Policy.
Major commitments must be met, and in fairness to all, the policy concerning the refund is:
Cancellations 3 months prior to workshop date - refund 80% fees paid
Cancellations 2 months prior to workshop date- refund 50% fees paid.
Cancellations 1 month prior to workshop date- no refund.
