Master class with Charity Vdmeer : Exploring Transparency felt couture for nuno-dress.
Course Overview
The workshop will focus on designing and making one-piece fashionable and wearable nuno felted dress.
Students will explore the various ways of creating textures and patterns while preserving the sheer and transparency of the silk fabrics.
They will get a chance to explore and experiment with deferent materials to achieve the transparency effect. Even more they will go home with a lot of new ideas that can be used in other projects.
They will learn how to enlarge a normal pattern into a felting pattern using the simple basic techniques I use in my work. This is a very effective method that will help them to develop their own pattern template that will suit and fit them.
Most importantly they will learn how to work with the direction of the wool to achieve a personalized style. The direction of the wool is very important to determine the shrinkage, the styling and the shaping of the felted finished garments.
