Over 200 people during a 7 months’ series of free workshops created approximately 2000 fabric tiles, which were laid into an art path designed by a local Aboriginal elder, Elsie Randell, at the front of the Gallery.

The fabric tiles were laid out on the footpath in front of Timeless Textiles and The Lock-up on International Women’s Day. Led by the Lord Mayor, Member for Newcastle and Aboriginal elders, 150 local and overseas women, men and children walked through the fabric mosaic, scattering the tiles, symbolizing cleansing and ‘letting go’ of old enmities.
