Go Your Own way with Eira Chidgey
Course Overview
Interested participants can bring an existing “finished” piece of artwork with them and we will explore the possibility of evolving it into something new.
It will challenge people’s idea of the end result, and instead encourage them to focus on the journey, and how work can be expanded further by deconstruction and reassembling. Artworks will be redesigned and pieced back together using stitch (hand stitch or if the work is small scale machine stitch is fine) creating something abstract and completely new. We can then rework back in. Calling into question the need for the square, works may meander, flow, or travel in whichever way they want… Often resulting in interesting and unexpected compositions.
Bring your work (which may be A3 to A5 size) which needs to be 2D but can be any medium, it doesn’t have to be textile, drawings and paintings are also good.
