UK fibre artist Abigail Brown attended and was inspired by the ‘Letting Go’ celebration  in 2015 and developed a template for the birds created for 2016 International Women’s Day.

This project, “Flying Free” really captured many hearts, locally and from afar and over 1,000 beautiful fabric birds were created. Each Wednesday for nine months, many gathered in the workshop area to create the birds and celebrate being creative together. The birds were sold on International Women’s Day and in the gallery, resulting in $30,000 being raised in donations to three local women’s refuges
